The IOS7 home screen refresh animation on iPad2 made me dizzy. So, I used iPad to take a picture in a darkened room, creating a black image that was saved on the Camera Roll. Next, I opened Wallpaper Settings and selected the black photo from the camera roll.

Problem mostly solved! The black background now provides a nice contrast to the home screen icons, and the home screen animation no longer produces nausea.

To reduce parallax effect: Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Turn on “Reduce Motion”
